Thank you, Janine for supporting my daughter and her new horse through ground work and bonding sessions, it has truly strengthened their bond and given her immeasurable tools in horsemanship. Your gentle, yet educated approach to horse and rider is exactly what they both needed and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending your services to others. Truly grateful that you were recommended to us.

I’ve had so much quality control with the horse listening in any situation.
Janine has shown us how to kindly work with our horses the end result being a huge amount of respect.
We started a stallion with know handling who is much older and set in his ways only to become a marshmallow, I truely think this is the best method of trailing I’ve seen in my 50 years in horses - Zoe Whelan··from Google
I first met Janine in 2023 when I was searching for an instructor whose approach leaned more towards horsemanship rather than traditional riding instruction. I had just purchased my first yearling after 20 years with green-broken horses, and I wanted to give Odin the best possible start. I was looking for someone who could guide us weekly, help lay solid foundations, and support both of us as we learned together.
After watching Janine run a lesson for a friend, I immediately knew she was the right fit for my boys’ journey. Her calm, understanding energy and her horsemanship-based methods stood out straight away.
Janine worked 1:1 with Odin when I couldn’t be there, always sending videos and updates so I knew what he found challenging and how he was progressing. She was endlessly patient with both of us, giving us the time to properly absorb each task before moving on. She also established clear, consistent boundaries for Odin—something I appreciated immensely, especially since I can be a bit relaxed with boundaries at times. Her clear explanations helped grow my own knowledge and confidence in handling and training.
She was also wonderfully flexible with lessons. If there was something I’d struggled with during the week—like washing or picking out hooves—she adjusted the session to focus on what we needed most.
One of Odin’s biggest milestones was float loading. Because of a past traumatic experience where he was pressured onto a float, reared, and hit his head, loading had always been a huge challenge. I’d had to use trucks, wide-angle floats, and very persuasive helpers just to get him travelling. I explained all of this history to Janine when we first met, and she took it on board with such care.
Within only a few weeks, Janine worked her calm, steady approach with Odin so effectively that he now self-loads. She knew exactly when to pause and let him think, and when it was safe to gently challenge him—never pushing him past his threshold or overwhelming him.
Janine has been an incredible support for both me and Odin. Her guidance, patience, and horsemanship-focused methods have made a world of difference, and I’m deeply grateful for the journey we’ve shared through her Horse Sense program.
